Chemistry in the Computer Lab!
The big idea for today is to first learn what is expected of you in the computer lab and then use a variety of sources on the internet and software on the computers to discover, deepen your understanding, and create your own representation of what you learn! The beauty of this activity is CHOICE!
Part I: Research Your Element

Choose the element from the Periodic Table that interests you most. Click on it to find more information about it. You will use this information for Part II!

Part II: Represent Your Element - Wordle or Kidspiration
Go to www.wordle.net Type (or copy and paste) words about your element to create a wordle. Adjust the font, style, and colors as you like. When you are finished with your creation, raise your hand and show it to your teacher!

OR
Go to Start, Programs, and open the Kidspiration software. Click on "Picture View" and create a mind map of information about your element. When you are finished, save it to your H:/ drive and raise your hand to show it to your teacher!
Part III: Chemistry Games
Once you've finished, play chemistry and element games on this site! Keep a periodic table open to make the game easier & meaningful!
